President Murat Daoudov joined the workshop of the Integration Strategy Group (ISG) held in Istanbul on 2-3 June 2016 which focused on migrant and refugee integration policies at local level. The Integration Strategy Group (ISG) is a joint initiative of the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). It is an expert exchange to assess the current opportunities and challenges of integration practices in Morocco, Turkey and Germany.
MDN team represented by Mehdi Zouauoi, Nihal Ben Mansour and Elif Şentürk participated in the opening ceremony of the International Model United Nations Conference (KAIHLMUN’16) organized by Kartal Anadolu Imam-Hatip High School and held in Istanbul, Turkey during 2-5 of June 2016.
MDN President Murat Daoudov and Advisor Mehdi Zouaoui participated in the 7th International Arabic Competitions held in Kızılcahamam, Ankara Province of Turkey, on 29-31 May 2016. The Arabic Competitions held for 7th consecutive year are organized by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey and Akademi Society for Language and Scientific Research.
MDN President Murat Daoudov chaired the session on employment of Syrians in Turkey held in Istanbul on 23 May 2016, in the framework of the World Humanitarian Summit (WHS). The side event called “Employment of Syrians under Temporary Protection Status in Turkey and Their Access to Labour Market” was co-organized by Directorate General of Labour of the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security and İŞKUR (Turkish Employment Agency).
The training seminar on Responsible Science has been organized at Marmara University to promote the international standards of responsible conduct of research and active learning. The activity was realized on May 20-21, 2016 under the cooperation between US National Academy of Sciences’ Middle East and North Africa Educational Institute on Responsible Science (NAS MENA III), the Faculty of Political Science of Marmara University and the Middle East Development Network [MDN].
Middle East Development Network [MDN] delivered a training workshop on “Principles of Municipal Communication” for the benefit of Libyan local government officials from six Libyan cities. This activity has been realized in the framework of the “Local Council Administration and Legitimacy (LOCAL/Baladiyati) Program” implemented by Creative Associates International and funded by MEPI.
The International Migration Congress has been co-organized by 19 May University and Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and was held in Samsun on 21-23 April 2016. President of MDN and lecturer at Marmara University Murat Daoudov made important remarks during his opening academic speech entitled “Relationship Between International Migration and City, Local Government and Local Policies”.
